"Find your passion" - Meagan Turner
With Meagan Turner Co-Founder RoadPitch and Electrical Engineering Student
This week I had the honor to speak to Meagan Turner; you can watch the entire interview on YoutTube, or listen to all podcasts. Meagan Turner is one of the founders of the RoadPitch competition and an Electrical Engineering Student. RoadPitch is a multi-city pitch tour for black pre-seed tech startup founders who will be traveling from Boston, Massachusetts, to Washington, DC, from February 1st to 5th of 2023.
What RoadPitch will do is organize 15 pitch demos in a 5-day sprint, engaging the local startup ecosystems within each city. The goal of RoadPitch is to help black founders secure their first few checks. As Meagan says, RoadPitch matches investors to startups by analyzing their previous investment portfolios and aligning them with scalable startups in their preferred industry and leading technology.
We had a lot of success organizing a similar tour last summer, where we brought 20 strangers together to form startups in 3 days in a hackathon-incubator-styled fashion. RoadPitch is a unique twist on this. We work with existing startups with proven traction and connect them to investors that align with their mission.
If you are a black founder of anyone who can benefit, reach out to Meagan Turner through her Linkedin for more information.
Key takeaway, after attending a tech conference and seeing people that look like her, Meagan has been inspired to purse her tech journey and support founders to get funding for their startups.
